What We Were Meant to Be!

I have tried to imagine what my life would have been like had I known how my mind was keeping me from fully being who I was meant to be. How I might have treated others differently and had been my more authentic, purposeful self. We all come from varied backgrounds, but I have seen the rich and intelligent and poor and simple alike searching for meaning and truth. All seem to struggle with some form of three general issues. I am enough, I am different, and I can’t ever attain that…. These three issues keep them trapped.  
 
Each of the issues above finds us seeking to belong. It exists at all levels from top to bottom. I ran peer groups for years with CEOs. Although they were successful in other’s eyes, most admitted to feeling lonely and isolated. 
 
For the most part, we are unaware of how we are shaped and conditioned by the countless forces that reinforced and punished us all along the way - that has become our present self. 
 

So how do we find our future self and become fully who we were meant to be? Just becoming aware of the misperceptions in our beliefs and the habits and actions that they create does not change them. Our mind is a very powerful creator and maintainer of our past. There are nine steps that will kickstart your future:

  1. Clean Out the Trash Talk including I’ll try, I can’t, I shouldn’t have…

  2. Tell your mind to do what you want it to do, not what you don’t want 

  3. Move from Pain to Pleasure with a Plan

  4. Redo pictures and how you speak to your future self

  5. Breathe Diaphragmically

  6. Make the Unfamiliar the Familiar

  7. In your conscious mind, practice speaking using the 3 P’s - Positive, Present Tense, Personal. 

  8. Challenge Listening/Viewing/People Behaviors

  9. Understand how to turn Up or Down Emotions, Imaginations and Memories in the Moment
