Gratitude Creates Attitude
I recently met with a man who shared that he led groups that started their meetings by sharing their Gratitudes. And I thought what a wonderful time to remind people of what a simple concept can do to our mind and body. Some of the benefits that Gratitude provides:
· Nervous System Regulation
· Brain Health
· Heart Function
· Anxiety
· Depression
· Hormone Balance
· Digestive System
· Immune System
· Inflammation
· Stress Levels
· Happiness
Yet, with all of these benefits, how often do we practice gratitude or know how?
I recommend that everyone start and end their day with the practice. It works best at that time when you are just coming out of sleep or just going to sleep. This is the time that our brainwaves allow you to be able to speak directly into your subconscious mind and accelerate change.
When we bring up gratitude and combine it with clear intention, we are embodying the event emotionally and the thought changes our brain, and the emotion changes the chemistry of our body. Dr. Joe Dispensa
What can it do for a company? A gratitude program can improve:
· Culture
· Core Values
· Invite Feedback
· Foster Better Relationships
· Improve Retention
· Improve Productivity
As author Robin Sharma puts it, Gratitude drives happiness. Happiness boosts productivity. Productivity reveals mastery.
Practicing gratitude also requires slowing down long enough to think and reflect—which seems harder and harder in our always-on, burning out, stressed out culture. Many of us are so overscheduled, overstimulated, and focused on the future that we struggle to see what’s right in front of us.
Gratitude is also associated with many benefits for individuals including better physical and psychological health, increased happiness, and life satisfaction, decreased materialism, and more.
Is it time to talk about how you can implement a gratitude program into your life and/or company?
